Visit Blue Owl Art at Grantham Tennis Club to see paintings by Chris Bagnall and Kate Robotham in the first floor gallery space. Chris Bagnall’s work focuses on the form and presence of strangers. In contrast, Kate Robotham’s work is strongly influenced by the beauty of nature. The first floor gallery space is quite unexpected to the visitor. The twenty paintings look like they were created for the space and the spot lighting highlights the dynamic colour and richness of the oil paintings. There are also six intriguing smaller charcoal and chalk drawings on display by Chris Bagnall. Four pieces of work have ‘sold’ dots next to them already. Not surprising as the place was buzzing on Preview Night.
Blue Owl Art also have a large display case brimming with exciting contemporary work by artists and makers, some of whom are members of the Design Factory. On display are: designer jewellery made by Rachel Jones, Sheila Kerr and Gill Pottle; beautiful porcelain pieces by Katharina Klug and Perin Towlson; colourful lamps and flowers made by eco artist Sarah Turner; hand printed textiles and sketch-books by Andrew Berwick and cheerful jugs designed by Helen Russell. Also on offer are hand made greeting cards; if you are looking for that special gift Grantham Tennis Club has become the place to visit.
Thank you Carolyn Roberts for your excellent blog about the night.
